How Did She Fell in Love with Art?
I was born and raised in Japan, but I spent about 1/3 of my life outside of my motherland. I grew up moving around place to place, today I travel whenever I can. I love seeing different worlds, meet different cultures, and explore.
When my parents talk about my childhood, I can picture the events they are referring to because I have looked at all the albums stacked on the shelves in our house. My mother told me that I have always made her take pictures of so many situations; she thought I was only being a kid and excited about everything. In reality, I wanted to capture moments in my lifetime and nostalgically remember them later on as time passes.
I bought my first instant camera when I was an eight-year-old. I was the only one in my class who came in with a camera. Until this day, I try to go around with my camera (now mostly iPhone) wherever possible to shoot moments in my life that I want to remember through the lens.
My works has a meaning of that an art is the universal language that speaks to all people and is able to evoke emotions, ideas and thoughts. Art needs no words and the meaning of a work of art is up for interpretation by the viewer. The world may advance technologically but I believe that the hearts and minds of people remain the same throughout time. Art is created in such a way that all people, young or old, deaf or mute, can all enjoy and take a meaning away from it. That is why I create art. That is why I love art.
